New order of a hot stamping line with capacity 600 Ton

For Easter 2025 we gave ourselves a gift: we placed an order for the purchase of a new mechanical press for brass hot stamping, with a power of 600 Tons, or 25% larger than the most powerful of our current presses. The line will include a new billet heating furnace.

Starting from November, it will be our twelfth automatic forging line, and it is part of the vision of continuous growth and improvement that Bonpress never stops pursuing.

Best wishes to us and to all our friends, customers and collaborators.

The brass alloys differentiate, our processes adapt.

The brass alloys we handle are increasingly numerous, and in order to ensure visual recognition of the different bars to our warehouse and cutting operators, we have introduced a coloration at the head of the bundle with organic paints.

These are the main alloys forged to date in Bonpress: CW617N / CW602N / CW625N / ECOBRASS / CW510L / CW511L / CW626N / CW725R / CW724R. Everything that can guarantee greater traceability and error reduction is in line with our strategy of constant growth and improvement!

Our new heat treatment furnace for CW602N brass solubilization is finally operational.

Thanks to FARM BRASS for providing us with our new heat treatment furnace, indeed after hot forging parts in CW602N alloy, to optimize the corrosion resistance of the material, we perform a heat treatment between 500°C and 550°C for a holding time at temperature of at least 2 hours, with cooling to room temperature. This treatment allows the solubilization of the residual “beta” phase to make the material resistant to dezincification and ensure our customers products free from electrolytic corrosion.

The production of watermeters housings is expanding

In 2024 we are consolidating the production of brass watermeters housings. After some investments in new machineries, we are now able to manufacture DN15 and DN20 sizes, with total length of 110 and 130 mm. From forging to machining, along with dimensional controls, we are satisfying the main watermeter manufacturers.

New forging dies’ machining shop into the new building

10 machines among machining centers, horizontal and vertical lathes for manufacturing new dies, or modifying and maintaining existing ones, are now at the service of the forging shop.

This, along with our in-house engineering department for product and tool design, contributes to the ever-improving service that is part of our value proposal towards our customers.

New building 2023

2023 starts with an important investment: the acquisition of an additional production shop!

The year starts with an important investment: the acquisition of a new building, intended for production departments and warehouse, with a size equal to that acquired a year ago (about 4500 square meters). The industrial plans include, for now, some light production departments and warehouse, with more surface remaining for new projects in the next few years.

New machining center for the tools and dies manufacturing

We are ending the commissioning and start-up of our new CNC machining center for the in-house manufacturing of the hot forging and cold trimming dies. It is a powerful and quick-setting machine, with spindle at 15000 rpm.

With this new investment we aim at increasing the capacity to manufacture and repair tools, which will turn, as usual, in a faster and better service for our customers.

Machining of brass inserts in CW511L alloy

Our ability to perform mechanical machining is strengthened: this double-spindle lathe allows us to machine brass inserts (in the photo, specifically in CW511L alloy), intended for co-molding in thermoplastic fittings (Polypropylene). The growth strategy of the mechanical machining department aims, like all our investments, at increasing the level of customer service: flexibility, timeliness, effective quality controls... these are the factors that improve the work for our customers, and we are proud to do our part in their (and our)...

Machineries moved to the New Building

After 8 months since when we purchased our new 4.000 sqm building, now it starts being refilled with brass bar sawing machines, trimming presses, brass bar warehouse, packaging machines for the water meter fittings.. And the offices are being built and furnished these days.

And new machineries are coming in the next months, keeping on investing in progress and development with the aim to improve the customer service and satisfaction.

The hot stamping line Nr. 11 has been installed

A new hot forging machinery has been put into operation in our forging shop: it is composed by a mechanical press Rovetta FO350 and a new FARM BRASS gas heating furnace, push type. The aim is to increase the flexibility of manufacturing, since the press works only in discontinuous mode which is well suited to some specific forged parts, while freeing up capacity in the other continuous forging lines.

A new automatic hot stamping line with 360 tons capacity

A new automatic hot stamping line, including a mechanical press MECOLPRESS SEO 36 CVE/CS and a billet furnace from FARM BRASS, is operational since November 2021. The aim is to improve the customer service by reducing the delivery time, especially for the international markets.

A new automatic cold trimming cell put into operation

A new, fully automatic trimming unit has been put into operation in September 2021 in the new building. Again an investment in order to better serve the customer, with speed of delivery and trimming precision.

The advantages of brass forging

The ever increasing spread of components made from non-ferrous metals by the building industry (plumbing), the furnishing industry (handles), the household appliances, the electrotechnical industry and the automotive industry, etc. has required producers to direct themselves towards the hot pressing technique which uses brass rod as its raw material, modern heating techniques, high output mechanical presses and special sub-presses to produce cavity cored and complex components simply and efficiently. This process offers many advantages in...

New 4,000 SQM building

In order to follow up on the growth of recent years, a new 4000 m2 production site was acquired, which will house some production departments and the warehouse for products to be shipped. The final goal is always to better serve the customer: with more space Bonpress will be able to be more agile and quick in deliveries, rationalize internal and external logistics, and have greater control over processes. Therefore the new bulding was completed, with a regular shape, high roof heights, easy access. A new important investment that is...

Here is an example of what our largest press is capable of forging!

Here is an example of what our largest press is capable of forging! Our Mecolpress SEO/44 CVE-CS allows us in this case to forge a 3.5 kg brass part, with two 70 mm diameter coring pins that penetrate the piece for a total of 80 mm.
For our client, this translates into a significant advantage in terms of material savings and machining time, while keeping the mechanical characteristics of the parts unchanged. Bonpress never stops investing in the latest hot stamping technologies, where they give a tangible advantage to our customers.

The role of products’ identification in the production process of brass forging

The role of products’ identification in our process, to grant our customers always the best quality, without surprises. We at Bonpress Brass Forging wanted to take a further step in the continuous improvement of our level of service and our quality: with the introduction of labels to grant the identification of the brass forged products in each box, our quality system arises as guarantee of lowest defectivity rate and, if detected, full traceability along the process. Many customers already appreciated, and this gratification will...
